RUSA (RASHTRIYA UCCHATAR SHIKSHA ABHIYAN)
RUSA is an initiative of Central Government which aims to bring reforms in the Higher education by creating an environment for facilitating institutional structure for planning and monitoring at the state level. The state of Himachal Pradesh opted for RUSA scheme in 2013 with an objective to reform its higher education sector at the undergraduate level.
As per UGC and Himachal Pradesh University guidelines, choice based credit system was introduced in the year 2015 under the umbrella of RUSA in St. Bede’s College like other colleges of the state. CBCS follows semester system pattern where two consecutive semesters (odd and even constitute an academic year. Grading and evaluation of students performance is done at the end of each semester through End-term examination and continuous comprehensive assessment. CBCS uses a credit based grading system instead of the percentage system.
Later on, H.P. University changed the semester system under RUSA into annual system w.e.f. 2017-2018. Evaluation process remains the same under this system and is continued till date.
