The department of mathematics structure its curriculum and instruction to provide students with arithmetic, algebraic, analytic and thinking skills necessary to meet high technology demands of today’s society. The department of Mathematics was started in the year 1975 in order to provide a opportunity to students to pursue B.Sc. with mathematics. At present this department offering B.Sc./B.A. degree course under UG program affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University. We are one of the organ to all other neighboring departments of our college like Commerce, Computer Science, physics, Botany, Economics etc. We are offering both Mathematics and Statistics as an allied paper for all above disciplines.
The mathematics develops calculating, computing, critical thinking, reasoning, problem solving and formulating the skills for the upcoming mathematicians.
Mission of Mathematics department is to provide an environment where students can learn and become competent users of mathematics and mathematical application. Moreover , the department will contribute to the development of student as mathematical thinkers, enabling them to become life long learners, to continue to grow in their chosen profession, and to function as productive citizens.

The department of mathematics has its own library which is very beneficial for students as they can get various books issued related to the subject and work on their problems and get extra knowledge. The library also has various books related to competitive exams.
The department of mathematics has its own desktop so that the students as well as teacher can search for various new researches in the field of mathematics.

Most students either go with higher studies or jobs. Many students get into academic’s disciplines, most are business people, bankers, teachers and other professionals.
